History
In 2004, Rini Claassen founded the family business PD Hammermill Spare Parts (formerly Plaatwerken Deurne). The company started with the production of impact hammers, screens and hammer shafts for the animal feed industry. Initially, the activities consisted only of cutting, punching, rolling, folding, welding, sawing and drilling.
In 2009, an investment was made in a hardening oven line (IPSEN TQ4 line). This gave PD Hammermill Spare Parts the opportunity to offer a total product to its customers.
This turned out to be a good move, because the demand for the products increased, which led to the purchase of a new, larger oven (IPSEN TQ5) in 2014.
In 2023, PD Hammermill Spare Parts purchased a new generator (UPC Endoflex). This new generator replaces 2 smaller generators, making PD Hammermill Spare Parts more future-proof. And a major additional advantage is that the new generator is more sustainable.
The next step in sustainability was taken in 2024. At that time, PD Hammermill Spare Parts invested in solar panels. A total of 566 solar panels were installed on the roofs of the company halls.
In addition to the expansions in its machinery, PD Hammermill Spare Parts also invested in its accommodation. After renting company halls for several years, PD Hammermill became the owner of its current company premises (dr Hub van Doorneweg 40 H/G/F) in 2016.
In 2023, the second generation of Claassen continued the company. Mark and Dirk then took over the management of the company from Rini. They will continue the company in the coming years in the way that Rini once started.
